  I make $50K per year and I can't even afford the gas to drive to/from work (AT ALMOST $4 / GALLON??EVEN WITH A 10 MILE ROUND TRIP AND A 30 MPG CAR???) I take the bus... I HOPE I can afford to heat my 600+/- square foot APARTMENT this winter and I HOPE I make it through the next 7 months (as long as my gas, electric & local phone bills are less than the $800/month I pay for rent, just eat vegan and I'll be OK...)

  I feel sorry for the retirees out there....it's getting to the point where they can't even afford cat food to eat....
